Summary Description:
Amazon.com, a US based MNC in the ecommerce business, has an exciting opening for a smart young in-house attorney with six to eight years of post-qualification experience to provide end to end legal support to the Amazon business located in NCR.
The Attorney will report to the, Associate General Counsel and Director Legal and Corporate Affairs based in New Delhi. The Attorney will be based in Bangalore and will be required to travel to other cities in India and occasionally outside of India. The Attorney serves as the primary legal contact to to the Bangalore based teams of Amazon.com and any other business or location that Amazon may add to the portfolio over time. .
The Attorney structures, drafts, negotiates and advises on a wide range of matters from standard commercial contracts, to complex, high-dollar value transactions and cutting-edge business initiatives; provides day-to-day corporate and business law counseling; administers and resolves legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships; provides legal review of advertisements, promotions and marketing; and legal review of procedural and government compliance issues.
The Attorney will also work with the Director Legal and Corporate Affairs on compliance initiatives, and on planning and executing process improvements and training.
Throughout all the above tasks the Attorney will closely coordinate with the global legal teams and outside counsel.
6 – 8 years or more of in-house legal experience with a multi-national company or a leading law firm environment is highly preferred. Experience working in a consumer-products, manufacturing, e-commerce or retail business is preferred.
Competence in a broad range of corporate and business laws is required; especially in the areas of commercial transactions and intellectual property (esp. copyright and trademark) and statutory compliances including Shops and Establishment Act and other State of Karnataka laws relevant to the Amazon business.

Education:
